Mobile RV Pre-Delivery Inspections

Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI)

How We Perform PDI Inspections

Key components of a PDI for an RV typically include:

  1. Exterior Inspection:
    • Checking for any damage to the body, frame, or tires.
    • Ensuring that windows, doors, and seals are intact and functioning.
    • Verifying that all exterior lights and electrical systems (e.g., solar panels, awnings) are operational.
  2. Interior Inspection:
    • Checking appliances (stove, fridge, microwave, etc.) to ensure they are working.
    • Testing plumbing systems, including faucets, toilets, and showers, to confirm there are no leaks.
    • Ensuring the HVAC system (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) works as expected.
  3. Electrical and Battery Systems:
    • Testing the RV’s battery and its charging system.
    • Verifying the proper operation of lights, outlets, and any built-in electronics.
  4. Water and Sewer Systems:
    • Testing the water pump and checking for any leaks in the plumbing.
    • Ensuring the gray and black water tanks are functioning and that all valves are in good working condition.
  5. Safety Features:
    • Ensuring that smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and emergency exits are all in place and functional.
  6. Road Testing:
    • A brief test drive may be done to ensure the RV handles correctly, including checking brakes, suspension, steering, and alignment.

Once the PDI is complete, we usually provide a checklist or report to the buyer, showing all tests performed and confirming that the RV is ready for use. It’s also an opportunity for the buyer to ask questions or request any necessary adjustments before taking possession of the RV.
